Dear Residents

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE
Jubilee Party
We are starting to think about the Jubilee Street Party that will be at the beginning of June. Pam and I are suggesting that interested people get together at 2 pm on Tuesday February 7th at number 37. If you would like to come along you will not be committing yourself to anything, so feel free to join us for a cuppa and a chat.
Grit Spreading
We now have not only a bin with salted grit but also a spreader and a snow shovel.
Four of us are registered with SCC as designated ’spreaders’. Let’s hope that being so organised will ward off the bad weather! It is not too late to volunteer to be a spreader if you wish. I think we will go out in twos for extra safety. The council have sent us a whole A4 sheet of useful advice.
Trees and drains
Thank you to our new neighbours at number 42 for sorting out their tree. The one outside number 36 is due to be removed by the council ~ which is a good job as it seems possible, if not probable, that the roots have damaged the sewage drain. Anglia water are sending a camera to look down the drain.
The development is looking rather bare without the trees so we are considering putting a large tree in a pot in the place outside Pam’s. The council are sadly not prepared to replace the tree.
Abbey Gardens
Just to draw your attention to the consultation re proposals for upgrading the
Abbey Gardens.
There is a display and detailed plans that can be taken away in the Apex.
AGM
Von is contacting Colin to arrange a date for this year’s AGM.
