THE NEW DEVELOPMENT
In a
climate where escalating house prices lead to people
being priced out of the property market, Suffolk
Heritage Housing Association, member of Flagship Housing
Group, has completed a fine development of 10 Shared
Ownership homes at Cathedral Meadows in Bury St Edmunds.
These much needed homes are available on a part sale,
part rent basis for key workers who are registered on
the West Suffolk Housing Register.
Key
workers have the opportunity to purchase a 50% stake in
their home, with the remaining 50% share being retained
by Suffolk Heritage and rented to the resident. There is
opportunity for additional shares to be purchased in the
future.
The
£1 .2milIion scheme was completed in April and received
£220,000 in social housing grant from The Housing
Corporation.
Through close partnership working with St Edmundsbury
Borough Council, Lovell, Last and Tricker Partnerships,
Oxbury & Company and other partners, we have developed a
high quality scheme comprising four two bedroom houses
and six two bedroom flats for Key Workers who are
registered on the West Suffolk Housing Register.
